Intellectual Property...

It was presumed that death ended intellectual property ownership. It does not. Property is still owned.  There could be many coveting claimants who would wish to just use the property but they could not appear at the bank and claim to own any intellectual property following the death of the owner. There is also potential criminal penalties.    They would have to bring a motion in court to argue their case as to why they should be an owner in competition with others. The average cost for such a motion with court costs is  $120,000.00. You should bring your motion and serve it on the owner or you could enter into a purchase agreement for less than the cost of a motion.
