If it is about serving the court, there is no competition before the hallowed ground and the bench. The police officer, the Crown or District Attorney and the defense lawyer are serving the court. The District Attorney's or Crown Attorney's job is to ensure the court is provided with full and frank detail and that this same detail is provided to the person before the court along with his representative so that the person before the court can provide a full answer and defense.

The police officer, the Crown or District Attorney and the defense lawyer are serving the court.   They are not competing for acceptance and nor are they competing for approval.  The duty is to serve the Court; not to embarrass the Court or your father.    The District Attorney's or Crown Attorney's  job is to ensure the court is provided with full and frank detail and that this same detail is provided to the person before the court along with his representative so that the person before the court can provide a full answer and defense.  It is not a test of egos or approval or acceptance. It is about impartial service and there is no competition.  If you withhold information as a police officer, the Defense wins automatically and the court suffers with the  contempt of the  police officer.  If you provide full information, the court is aided. The defense is aided.  It is not a competition.  The Police Officer has all the approval he needs in his badge and uniform. He should feel grand like a school teacher or Cross Walk guard who do not seem to be in need of desperate approval before any Court or body.
